Seeking A New Web Manager For COGS
The COGS Executive is looking for a Web Manager to work with our Information Officer on maintaining and curating the COGS Website (cogs.asn.au) to provide an informative and easy to navigate website for our members and the public.
The role will entail overseeing the COGS IT environment. The Web Manager will be required to be comfortable with managing a web hosting environment including:
- Maintaining the current registration of the COGS domain names;
- Managing email addresses and forwarders for the COGS Executive and Convenors (approximately 30 email addresses);
- Maintaining the currency of the hosting environment, including ensuring required software invoices are paid on time;
- Maintaining installed software and version control as required;
- Accessing the WordPress Dashboard to manage the website;
- Maintaining and updating the installed plugins and themes;
- Maintaining and updating current pages;
- Maintaining backups;
- Creating new pages as required; and
- Participating in design decisions on the evolution of the website.
An ability to work with WordPress and a knowledge of internet hosting environments is required.
Note this a volunteer role and is not remunerated. There are some out-of-pocket expenses (eg purchase of IT software) which will be reimbursed by COGS. The time commitment for role can vary from 1 – 3.5 hours per week. A handover working with the current Web Manager will be provided.
