Vacancy – COGS Treasurer

The COGS Executive is seeking someone to take on the role of Treasurer. This role will suit some seeking to gain board/committee experience, someone who works part-time or is retired. The role of Treasurer is voluntary and involves:

  • Responsibility for all receipts and payments (revenue approx. $70,000 p.a.);
  • Invoicing of members for annual membership and plot fees from around 500 members, and payments, including reimbursements for garden expenses across COGS gardens, water bills, administration etc;
  • Preparing a short monthly report to the Executive Committee on cash movements and participation in the Committee meetings (held each month except January);
  • Organisation of the annual audit from our qualified auditor to be presented at the Annual General Meeting;
  • Some financial knowledge and a willingness to learn new skills such as the use of MYOB Account Right; and
  • Approximately 1-2 hours per week, and up to 30 hours across the months of July/August for the annual invoicing process;
